Ford has officially released a trail-finding app tailored exclusively for owners of the Bronco SUV. The Bronco Trail app, which is compatible with mobile devices running either iOS or Android, comes packed with a plethora of features that will appeal to people who are truly passionate about off-roading.
To put it another way, this software is not designed for those whose primary purpose for driving a robust SUV is to run errands such as picking up coffee down the block.
The software guides users to more than 1,200 trails that have been curated by professionals and is currently available in the United States, Canada, and Mexico (with more nations to come). Together, these trails comprise 18,000 miles.
Data-driven overlay videos are recorded and shared.
You can filter the trails on these maps based on location, length, difficulty, and other criteria, and you can save the trails that you like most. Once you have a trail saved, you will have the option to add waypoints, notes, and even photos to highlight specific landmarks along the route.
It should come as no surprise that the more into the wilderness one travels, the less cellphone coverage one may expect to receive. The software enables you to download maps in advance, giving you the option to save them in either satellite or 2D topographic formats, so that you may view them regardless of where you are.
In addition to carefully curated maps, this site also has several high-tech features. The application communicates with the SUV’s tire pressure gauge sensor and makes automatic adjustments to the vehicle’s tire pressure in accordance with the trail’s specifications.
This function can be utilized even in the absence of a cellular or cloud connection. You may share interesting places to visit and other information with other Bronco owners by trading marked-up maps with them. This adds a little social media element to the experience.
In relation to the topic of social media, the app includes the capacity to record video, which can then be uploaded to the social network of your choosing and shared.
This is not an ordinary video by any means, as the content is automatically overlaid with a plethora of information that is both helpful and entertaining, such as the speed, RPM, distance traveled, height, and a great deal of other data.
However, the base price of a brand-new Ford Bronco begins at approximately $42,000. It is currently available for download, and Ford has stated that it will continue to provide regular updates, which will include the addition of additional trails and features over the next few months.
In addition to that, you will require a current subscription to FordPass; however, if you own a new Bronco, you probably already have this as well.
