Tayaka will replace Golden Corral in the 5100 block of U.S. Route 60 between Huntington and Barboursville.
In July, restaurant owner Kevin Huang will begin remodeling for its “big buffet plan.”
Huang promises sushi, seafood, steak, and more.
Huang replied, “Not completely done yet,” when questioned about the new restaurant’s menu and hours.
Huang works at Yamato Steakhouse of Japan in Prestonsburg, Kentucky.
He announced a July grand opening.
Dollar General Opens in Ironton
Dollar General opened at 3330 S. 3rd St. in Ironton.
Dollar General sells groceries, cleaning goods, paper products, over-the-counter pharmaceuticals, hygiene products, baby products, and more. According to a corporate press release, the new Ironton shop offers home décor and party preparation in addition to national and private-branded merchandise.

Dollar General’s senior vice president of real estate and store development, in the release. “We hope customers enjoy shopping at our new store.”
Dollar General will gift 100 new books to a neighboring elementary school for kindergarten through fifth-graders to celebrate the opening of its new Ironton store. The Kellogg Company will provide over 60,000 books nationwide in fiscal year 2022 to honor new shop openings.
Simonsen said Dollar General tries to be a good neighbor and supports its community.
The announcement noted the Dollar General Literacy Foundation’s consistent support of literacy and education. The Ironton shop allows schools, nonprofits, and libraries within 15 miles to qualify for Dollar General Literacy Foundation funding.
Since 1993, the Dollar General Literacy Foundation has granted over $219 million to charitable organizations, helping 16.1 million people learn to read or continue their education.

Tradehome Shoes Opens in Barboursville
Tradehome Shoes opens its second West Virginia location.
Tradehome Shoes said in a news release that it would establish a Barboursville outlet in June in addition to its Vienna site.
The Huntington Mall store will include luxury brands including Hey Dude, Birkenstock, Sorel, Pikolinos, Chaco, Dansko, Ecco, HOKA ONE ONE, Brooks, ON Running, and more.
