Logitech International CEO Bracken Darrell is from Owensboro. Darrell “departing the company to pursue another opportunity,” Logitech said Tuesday.
“After nearly a decade of consistent growth and building market leadership across multiple categories, I feel this is a good point to hand over leadership,” Darrell said in a release.
In the announcement, Logitech chairwoman Wendy Becker stated, “We thank Bracken for his leadership during an exciting era of transformation at Logitech.
Bracken guided Logitech to become an award-winning design firm with unprecedented product innovation over his 10 years as CEO. We wish him well and look forward to finding his successor.”
Darrell led Logitech for 10 years.
In a release, Logitech announced Darrell’s immediate resignation as president, CEO, and board member, but he will stay for a month to help with the transition. During a worldwide search for internal and external candidates, board member Guy Gecht will serve as temporary CEO.
Darrell’s LinkedIn article focused on Logitech’s decade-long success. “Expanded our tiny gaming business from $40 million to industry leadership well over $1 (billion)” and “Transformed a tired, declining desktop business to over $2 billion and a strong growth machine,” he claimed.
I’m thrilled about Logitech’s future as well as this team’s accomplishments. “I’ll be a customer, investor, and raving fan of Logitech,” Darrell wrote.
Darrell also boasted the company’s honors, including being “named to the prestigious SMI (an index of the top companies on the Swiss stock exchange)” during his leadership. Darrell earned the 2022 Edison Achievement Award and was selected Swiss CEO of the Year by Obermatt three times in four years.

“I’m going on new adventures… “But tonight I’m playing basketball,” Darrell wrote.
