As the summer transfer window approaches, Liverpool will concentrate on bolstering their midfield options.
Jurgen Klopp has reportedly identified a number of potential alternatives since withdrawing from the contest to recruit Jude Bellingham.
Despite the fact that the Reds’ midfield is in dire need of improvement, the club’s first summer acquisition will be a defender.
After a fruitful loan stint with Bristol Rovers, Liverpool central defender Jarell Quansah signed a new contract at Anfield.
The news concludes a memorable week for the 20-year-old, who was named to England’s under-20 World Cup squad.
In fact, ‘the heavens is the limit’ for Quansah, according to Bristol Rovers manager Joey Barton, who has praised the youthful defender.
What was he saying?
Barton stated earlier this year regarding Quansah, “The ceiling is the limit for him, he can be whatever he desires.
The former Newcastle and Manchester City midfielder continued, “Jurgen Klopp does not feel the way he does about you training with the first team unless you are a good player.”
Quansah has been a member of Liverpool’s academy since he was five years old, and he captained the Reds’ under-18 team to the FA Cup final two years ago.
Since then, he has been named as a substitute for three senior matches under Klopp, but he has yet to play for the first team.
Time will tell if Quansah can make the transition to the Premier League, as Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahim Konate, and Joe Gomez are currently ahead of him in the pecking order.
However, the Liverpool manager will be able to evaluate him during the preseason. As he prepares for his first significant international tournament in Argentina, Quansah has the opportunity to make an impression on the world stage with the Young Lions.
