According to reports, Adarsh Menon, Head of New Business and Senior Vice President at Flipkart, has submitted his resignation to pursue his own new venture.
According to reports, Flipkart CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy intends to reorganize the team in the wake of his departure. In close proximity to this development, Pranav Tiwari has reportedly been hired as an SVP.
Menon moved from HUL to Flipkart in 2015. Since ten months ago, he has led Flipkart’s new businesses, including Shopsy, Cleartrip, and ReCommerce. Previously, he served as SVP and Walmart India’s Head of Wholesale.
New leaders will focus on Menon’s portfolio
Menon was promoted to the position of Head of Business in July 2022, when senior executive Prakash Sikaria planned to leave Flipkart. However, Sikaria ultimately resolved to remain with the company.
Menon was the General Manager for West India at HUL, where he had worked for over a decade.
In a note to employees, the CEO of Flipkart, Krishnamurthy, stated that the company would be “restructuring his portfolio under different leaders to provide specific focus.”
According to a note sent to employees, Hemant Badri will succeed Menon as head of the re-commerce organization. Amitesh Jha will oversee the Shopsy org, while Ajay Veer Yadav will lead the Cleartrip org.
