According to data released by the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) on Monday, the turnover of businesses in the hospitality industry increased by 27%, or by 19.2 million euros in February, reaching a total of €90.46 million, up from €71.21 million in the same month of the previous year.
It was also said that the turnover of restaurant businesses increased by 20.4%, which is equivalent to an increase of 24.3 million euros, to 143.46 million euros in February, up from 119.17 million euros in the same month in 2022.
The accumulated revenue reached 233.93 million euros in February 2023, a 22.9% increase from the previous month’s figure of 190.38 million euros.
Messinia saw the highest percentage increase in turnover (49.1%) among the country’s regions, whilst Mykonos reported a fall in turnover of 26.3%. Pictured above is the island of Mykonos.
