A lady who lives in Hanover Township is being investigated for allegedly running a prostitution ring out of her hair salon.
Amy Zlobin, age 51, was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor for encouraging prostitution on Monday by state police.
Embellish Hair Cuts is located at 1100 Steubenville Pike and has been the subject of many allegations of possible prostitution, according to the criminal complaint that was filed by the Hanover Township police department.
There were approximately twenty messages on a bulletin board available online for the purpose of communicating with escorts that appeared to mention Zlobin.
According to the lawsuit, several of these posts used the name “Amy” along with a physical description that matched that of Zlobin. They also allegedly utilized shorthand to refer to a variety of sexual practices.
According to the authorities, a phone number that is provided in some of the posts is the same number that is used by Embellish Hair Cuts.
Zlobin is being represented by Pittsburgh attorney David Shrager.
According to the documents filed with the court, a state trooper scheduled a “appointment” with Zlobin and met her at a hair salon just before 2 o’clock in the morning on April 19. According to the allegations made in the lawsuit, Zlobin was first given money, and then she was arrested for prostitution.
In addition, the police were able to seize a planner that belonged to Zlobin and which contained a number of appointments as well as phone numbers.
“I have just been recently retained, and we have just begun our investigation,” Shrager stated when he was contacted by phone on Thursday. “I am aware that my client cannot wait to present her case in court and have her side of the story heard,” said the attorney.
On June 22, at 10:30 in the morning, Zlobin is set to appear in court for a preliminary hearing.
