Instead of the ‘Maroof’ platform, the ‘Business’ platform of the Saudi Business Center is the only platform designated by the ministry for the documentation of electronic stores in Saudi Arabia, according to the Ministry of Commerce.
Linking internet retailers’ bank accounts increases security and eliminates deceit.
The ministry’s spokesman, Abdul Rahman Al-Hussein, urged proprietors of electronic stores to swiftly register their businesses on the platform. “It is necessary to link the bank accounts of online retailers in order to increase the security of their transactions and eliminate the possibility of deception. The documentation processes are simplified and can be accessed electronically.
In addition to an active commercial bank account, Al-Hussein stated that the terms and conditions for the documentation of online retailers on the platform include the presence of a valid commercial register or freelance work document.
The ministry and E-Commerce Council are establishing documentation processes to boost the Kingdom’s e-commerce transactions’ credibility.
Notable is the fact that the Saudi Business Center serves as the central hub for the business sector in the Kingdom. The purpose of its establishment is to keep up with international best practices and to foster a business climate conducive to the expansion of the national economy.
